Banfield and AHA Team Up for Pet Emergency Preparedness!

Posted by justinelee in Animal Safety, Blog

Download this great simple poster published by Banfield Pet Hospital and the AHA on pet emergency preparedness! Good to laminate and post with your pet first aid kit! Banfield AHA emergency PDF My top 5 things to put in an emergency pet first aid kit? A fresh, unexpired bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide. This isn’t for cleaning wounds necessarily, but rather for inducing vomiting if your dog gets into something poisonous! Accidental poisonings in our pets occur thousands of times a day across...

Review of Cycle Dog Trail Buddy Bowl | Dr. Justine Lee Product Reviews

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet Product Reviews

I recently purchased the Cycle Dog Trail Buddy Collapsible Dog Travel Bowl from Earth Friendly Pet Company. I wanted to check out products that were ecofriendly, BPA and lead free, and compact. This bowl is perfect for camping and backcountry trips – it’s super light, water proof, easy to clean, leakproof, and folds flat/compact. EPA and Reckitt Benckiser Inc. Reach Agreement to Cancel Certain Rodenticide Products

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet World

Wowza! Reckitt Benckiser, makers of  d-CON, just lost their lawsuit against the EPA (or what they called “settles”). The EPA issued a mandate back in July 2011 to remove anticoagulant rodenticides (ACR) off the market, and several large mouse and rat poison companies have fought this. So what does this late breaking news mean? It means that Reckitt Benckiser has to remove d-CON off the shelves. While this is good for wildlife (who are often poisoned accidentally by these mouse...

Pet Rescue Rx | Dr. Justine Lee

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet World

I recently had the opportunity to interview Dr. Glenn Buckley, the veterinary founder of a new online pet pharmacy called Pet Rescue Rx. I was intrigued about what he was doing, as there’s so much controversy in the veterinarian-versus-Walmart pharmacy sales right now. When I saw that a veterinarian started an online pet pharmacy, I wanted to further investigate! NOTE: In full disclosure, most veterinarians don’t support Walmart or online pet pharmacies; they often see serious...
