Does your dog have fleas? Is your cat covered in fleas?
Here, some classic signs of a flea infestation on your dog, cat, your environment, or you:
- Black “dust” on the fur
- Itchiness
- Scratching
- Red bumps on the skin
- Chewing on the fur
- Constant discomfort or itchiness
- Small bites around your ankles
Here, a wonderfully creative video created by Dr. Simanovszky, a veterinarian with a passion for educational cartoons! A reminder about the health dangers of fleas to dogs and cats. Not only can it lead to a life-threatening anemia (especially in kittens), but it can contribute to flea allergy dermatitis, uncomfortable pain and itching, plague, tapeworm infestations, and more!
My advice as a veterinarian? If you have a cat or dog or multiple pets, it’s imperative to keep your ALL your pets on medication; after all, just because your cat doesn’t go outside doesn’t mean your dog won’t carry them in. It’s a lot less expensive than having to flea bomb your whole house.
When in doubt, talk to your veterinarian about picking a flea and tick medicationthat fits you, your dog or cat, and your lifestyle!

Hilariously educational!
This is excellent. I wish I could use it on the clinics Facebook page, except the I think a few words would offend some of our clients! Too bad!
was hoping to use it our our hospital facebook page but the language won’t pass the censors
LOL, yeah I agree. It’s got some curses in there but it is pretty humorous and educational otherwise!
Thanks Dr. lee! Exactly the info I was looking for!
I would have learned so much more in school if they taught everything this way. Great video!
