Review of Running Buddy | Dr. Justine Lee

I just discovered the NEW! Running Buddy 2 “Buddy Pouch” PINK – Attachable, Water-resistant, Magnetic Pouch! Great for Runners, Cyclists, Walkers & Travelers!. Up to now, my running buddy was always my dog, Milo. So when I got one as a gift last week, I decided to check it out. Now, I typically run with my iPhone in an arm band strapped to me. I can run, track my distance (Thank you, MapMyRun!), and make urgent phone calls in case of emergency. So, would I use somewhat that magnetically attaches to my waist instead?

I decided to test it out on my dog hike to Minnehaha dog park. And I was pleasantly surprised.

The pros:

• It’s super light
• Seems durable
• Has a really strong magnetic property that let’s it latch through your clothing (e.g., waist band) easily
• Doesn’t need to be strapped, tied, hooked up, or carried
• Perfectly sized for a Smart Phone
• Has two pouches – one for your phone, one for your credit cards
• The inside is waterproof while the outside has a sweat-wicking material

The cons:

• It’s durable, but would be too bouncy to carry a phone during sprinting and running. Granted, I have the larger Running Buddy (not the small pocket sized one).
• It’s got Velcro snaps, which are very secure, but I’m not sure how well those will stick it out if the Running Buddy is washed frequently (e.g., if you’re carrying dog treats inside).

That said, overall, I love it. Not going to run with it, but definitely going to walk and hike with it. Frees up your hands so you can focus on your dog while walking. Hides your iPhone so you don’t have to use it or see it or check email on it constantly. Two thumbs up. Great for dog owners!
