Why this veterinarian loves the SureFlap microchip feeder SureFeed | Dr. Justine Lee

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet Product Reviews, Pet World

As a veterinary specialist and pet owner, I see a lot of pet products out there that are gimmicky and not worth the financial investment. That said, once in a while, I see a pet product that I LOVE and try out on my own pets. My favorite product as of late? The SureFlap, a microchip-activated automated pet food dispenser. Why do I love this? Because as a veterinary specialist, I’m often dispensing prescription pet foods for specific diseases. For example, if you have a cat with food...

Tuggo Dog Toy Review | Dr. Justine Lee

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet Product Reviews, Pet World

Recently, I had the opportunity to try the Tuggo Dog Toy on my own 57-pound, pit bull mix. After seeing this ranked as one of top toys at SuperZoo, I decided to try it out myself. First, I should clarify that my dog, Milo, is a ball-crazed mutt. He loves tennis balls, ChuckIt toys, soccer balls, etc. So when I took this one out, his eyes literally dilated! The pros of the Tuggo Dog Toy: The plastic is extremely durable and thick. It’s easy to unscrew the ball with a coin to add in water...

Best pet-friendly mats ever! Smartcatcher Mats review | Dr. Justine Lee

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet Product Reviews, Pet World

Any dog owners out there that hate spring time? The only reasons why? The huge amount of now-thawed 3-month old poop piles all over the backyard, and the mud that your dog tracks into the house! What about you cat owners? Who else besides me hates having kitty litter track all over your house?  (Trust me, I wouldn’t trade my two cats for the world… and now that I switched to SwheatScoop, I definitely have less kitty litter hatred!). Well, I just discovered the Smartcatcher Mats ...

Many of the contributing authors are veterinarians or PhD experts in their field. This book is comprised of over 30 short stories about zoonotic diseases (those that can spread...

The Honest Kitchen | Dr. Justine Lee Product Review

Posted by justinelee in Blog, Pet Product Reviews, Pet World

So, I had my first opportunity to try out The Honest Kitchen (THK)’s dehydrated dog and cat food. [As my dog has food allergies and atopy, he’s on a hypoallergenic diet, so he didn’t get the joy of trying this out. That said, my cats tried both the cat and dog formulation as a result!] First, kudos to the packaging. Ecofriendly with a really small carbon footprint. It’s compostable, recyclable cardboard and BPA-free packaging (Remember that BPA is traditionally only in...
